There are three types of people in this world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder what happened.
-- Mary Kay Ash

The primary characteristic of nonprofit communicators who “make things happen” is their ability to generate lots of effective ideas and then put those ideas to productive use to tell their story in their annual reports, on their Websites, in their fundraising appeals, and on their Social Media channels.

This next roundtable is a perfect continuation of where we last left off. The last roundtable discussion was an ideal example of how ideas can be generated through peer-sharing groups. However, we don’t always have the opportunity to sit-down with our colleagues and discuss ideas; much of this day-to-day work we have to do on our own.

At the “Shortcuts to Success” roundtable, we’ll delve into proven idea-generating processes that you can do on your own, followed up with storytelling techniques that help you share all of the great ideas you just came up with. You’ll spark your own creativity and find ways to “make things happen.”

At this free 90-minute session, co-hosts Steve Cebalt and Amy DiNovo Hathaway will offer 15 tips on the art and science of generating creative ideas and 10 “Shortcuts to Success” for putting those ideas into action to help you raise awareness, raise funds, or attract members.  You’ll discover that the process of creating ideas is just that -- a process. It can be learned. You don’t have to consider yourself a creative person to use this systematic approach to creativity!

In today’s economy, IDEAS are the most important form of currency. After all, ideas are free, and great ideas are priceless. If we can use proven shortcuts to generate and apply ideas more effectively, we’ll remain among the group of people who make things happen.

This “Shortcuts” session could have a profound impact on you personally, and on the success of your organization’s communications.

So let me close as I began – by saying that there are three types of people in this world – those who can count, and those who can’t!

That’s just a joke, but I hope we can count on you to join us for “Shortcuts to Success” on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 10:30-noon at The Steininger Center for The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, 555 E. Wayne Street in Fort Wayne (Click here for a map.)
