About this blog

Bad Advice is Free, Mine in $19.95

My Dad never gave advice. In fact, the only advice he ever gave me is, “Never
give advice, and be skeptical about advice that others give you.”

Thanks, Dad, for that helpful guidance during my formative years! My Dad was not a deep philosopher.

But one of the world’s most respected philosophers
shared my Dad’s view:

“No enemy is worse

than bad advice.”

Sophocles

So thanks to the
unwillingness of my dad to guide me during my vulnerable youth, and the wisdom of Sophocles, I chose to call this section of my site “Bad Advice.”

 Of course, you won’t find
bad advice here. The point
of this blog is to separate the bad advice that abounds
on the Internet from useful
facts and data for nonprofit communicators. You’ll find
fact-based articles, studies
and resources that may
inspire you or make you
more productive. And
you’ll find some of my own personal opinions, which,
since this section of the
site is free, are worth every penny.

 Many of the topics touched
on here can be explored
further on our retail website, MainStreetNonprofit
Training.com, where you
can download webinars and tutorials for just $19.95 on
topics ranging from branding
to Social Media Marketing,
from Media Relations to
E-Newsletters.

So feel free to surf the web
and sift through the bad
advice, which of course is
free. Or peruse my training webinars and tutorials,
which, while not free,
cost just $19.95.
